The manifest world is a matrix of five elements, each of which came into being, one after the other, in order to create the cosmos. And so, it makes sense to think about this reclamation journey as a manifestation of the elements as well. Here’s an abbreviated creation story to map out the landscape of our Journey of Self-Reclamation, element by element, beginning with the first and most subtle form.
Space
First, there was Ether (also known as Space). This is the stuff of potential, but really, there isn’t any “stuff” yet. It’s the place/space/opening/opportunity for life to form. Space is Opportunity. It is subtle, profound, expansive, pervasive and primordial. Space exists everywhere. It doesn’t really do anything on its own; it simply is. This is the first element to come into being and without it, there would be no place or opportunity for the other four elements to manifest. Space is the void within which all vibrational reality resounds.
Air
Second, there was Air. Air brings movement, directionality, and speed. While there’s still no “stuff” to speak of, now there is a doing of sorts: a coming and going, a “here” and a “there.” Air is dynamic, variable, spontaneous, provocative and fleeting. Air is Inspiration. It movesus and all things. This is the second element to come into being and without it, the world would be without motion. Because of Air, we can experience touch, variety, and friction.
Fire
Third, there was Fire. Fire is the driving force of all life. Fire is the Big Bang, our Sun, our Mitochondria. Fire brings warmth and light to the universe. It is enlivening, active, transformative, and consuming. Fire is Energy andTransformation. Everything fire touches changes. This is the third element to come into being and because of it, we experience our world as a spectrum of heat, light, color, and shadow; because of Fire, we have vision and clarity.
Water
Fourth, there was Water. Water is the first element to introduce moisture, texture, and substance to the universe. Water is soft, receptive, responsive, and nourishing. It is clear and shapeless but will effortlessly take the shape and color of whatever surrounds it. Water is not itself alive, and yet it relentlessly promotes and fosters life forms of all kinds. Water lubricates, smoothes, dampens, and dilutes. It is the juice of life, and it provides flavor to the world. Water is the fourth element to come into being and it nurtures our cosmos with flow, receptivity, and release.
Earth
Fifth, and lastly, there was Earth. Earth gives us ground to stand upon and settles us into our experience here in the manifest world. Earth is solid, stable, reliable, consistent, and dense. It is the “stuff” of our universe. Earth is Structure and Substance. It has gravity and body, and thus holds everything together. Earth is the fifth element to come into being. It is the concentration and stabilization of vibration into this tangible density we know as our physical world.
